To walk or NOT to walk your dog?

Whether you have a busy schedule from work, school, and family, it is really important to make the time to walk your dog. We almost gave up on walking Lady Gaga. Whenever we put a leash on her, she would lay down and not move. We knew dragging Lady Gaga was a no no, so we practiced what Caser Millan did on this youtube video. (Featured at the bottom) With lots of love and patience, Lady Gaga started walking on her own. Now she is more calm and relaxed, especially around dogs.

Walks will make your dog healthier both physically and mentally. Studies from the University of Washington D.C., claim, pet owners who walked their dogs on a daily bases showed lower risk of having high blood pressure, weight gain, and Diabetes. (YES, animals can get diabetes too.)

If your dog has anxiety issues like Lady Gaga did, don't give up on them. The world is a big place filled with scary things and noises. Take baby steps along with tender love and care.

Here are some Dog Walking Tips from About.com:

20 minutes a day is all it takes. Texts yourself a reminder, or put a post it in your car saying, “Walk doggy”.
