I've been wanting to train Lady Gaga for the past year, but I couldn't afford it until I found a job. With my first pay check I went to Petsmart and enrolled her immediately. Next year I plan on moving into an apartment and I don't want Lady Gaga pooping or peeing everywhere.
Anyway, I had to miss the first class because I had to give a presentation, so my dad took my place. He explained how Lady Gaga was nervous and timid around the other dogs. She needs more socialization with other dogs and be placed on a strict routine. As for homework, we have to train her 30 minutes a day.
Day 1 of Dog Training
By 8:00am I took Lady Gaga and Glinda outside to relieve themselves.
At 8:30 I began my training lesson with Gaga. Ok. I'm going to be really honest, it did not go so well. For 15 minutes I kept trying to teach her to give me her paw. Instead she ran away and hid under the table. After catching her I tried another trick called Paparazzi...in other words, play dead. This one went a little bit better, but in the end I found myself getting a headache.
It's really hard not to get upset or even use my mad voice when she doesn't do a trick, but I've learned that through love and a lot of patience is the best way to make Lady Gaga learn her tricks.
9:00 eating time: The trainer said to leave the food bowl out for ten minutes, then once those 10 minutes pass to cover/take away the food. I feel so bad...my girls are use to an open bowl of food.
Around 10am I'm going to take the girls on a walk. We'll see how this goes.
