Last Friday was Lady Gaga's second birthday. It's official, she's a teenager in doggy years and to celebrate she had a photo-shoot. Later that day I bought her some pastry made especially for dogs. She enjoyed it!! Even though she's just a dog, she's had a huge impact on my life. Two years ago, I went through a very difficult heartbreak. I got rejected from law schools, grad schools, jobs, and even having a fellow bruin break my heart. All of these set backs made me go into a serious depression, to the point where I did not want to get up in the morning. I would just lie on my bed in complete darkness and hope that somehow I would just stop breathing.
Two weeks later my Uncle told me to meet him at work. I live in Los Angeles and he works in San Diego. He explained that his dog had puppies and wondered if I wanted one. I honestly thought my Uncle had gone nuts, because my dad wouldn't want any pets...but I guess seeing his daughter be zombie like for a month, changed his mind. So I drove to San Diego and I met up with my Uncle. There she was, this small little bundle of fur. She cheered me up and I knew I had to start taking care of her. Doing research on her breed, taking her to training classes, and simply loving her gave me so much joy. In return she became my confidant, friend, someone I can just lie on my bed with and relax. Just like Lady Gaga the artist, Lady Gaga my poodle gave me back my life.
