A Happy Ending

I haven't been able to train Glinda or Lady Gaga for the past couple of days because I caught a bad cold that my body is still fighting off. Anyway, I came across this story about a Pit Bull in Baltimore, Maryland that was left for dead on someone's doorstep. When homeowners found the dog, they rushed her to a vet right away. She was 2-3 years old, and weighed about ten pounds. Even though she was abused and malnourished, she was still a sweet dog that showed no signs of aggression.

Today, Sugarnap, will be meeting her new family for the first time. She has gained more than twice her weight and is in good spirits.

I love reading stories about animals who are fortunate to have happy endings. So many dogs, specifically Pit Bulls tend to be the most abused, abandoned, and stereotyped because of what people do to them.

I too feared Pit Bulls because I thought they were fighting dogs and they were incapable of being pets. My dog, Brownie changed my perspective on Pits forever. She was a German Shepard, Rottweiler, Pitt Bull mix. Having those fierce features of a Pitt, people feared her, but she was the most sweetest and loving dog I ever had. She wouldn't even harm a fly. Even though she died many years ago, I still miss her and appreciate her presence she had in my life.

Abusing an animal is unethical and plain out cruel. These animals have no voices or mentality to defend themselves. If you know someone who may be absuing their pets, please, call 911 or your local animal control. Remember you can always remain anonymous.

Going back to Sugarsnap, we wish her the best of luck and hope her future is filled with love and happiness.
