Their voices and your votes were HEARD!

California has officially outlawed battery cages for farm animals. Now all farm animals must have enough space to stand up and especially for chickens to spread their wings. By 2015 all farms must meet these regulations or they will face fines and/or imprisonment for animal abuse.

We also have to give props to Missouri! Voters passed a law called The Puppy Mill Cruelty Prevention Act, which means breeders can only have a max of 50 female dogs and all dogs under their care must see a vet at least once a year. Since Missouri is the "puppy mill" capital of the US, we give a big THANK YOU to the voters for stepping up to the plate in protecting animals.

As for federal laws, President Obama has signed The Animal Crush Video Prohibition, which prohibits depicting animals being abused for pleasure. (Gross right!) Anyone who creates and sells it will be pentalized for up to seven years in prison.
