Dog Training Days 8&9

Yesterday (aka day 8 of dog training) was okay. In ways both Glinda and Lady Gaga are showing progress, but some days like yesterday, they had plans of their own. I first began with Lady Gaga, who performed "Sit, paparazzi, and lay down." After successfully performing these tricks, she decided to lay down for the rest of the training session. The trainer said I'm not allowed to touch/make her move because she must learn on her own. I began getting frustrated...so to cool off I took deep breaths and kept trying to convince Lady Gaga to move. It was not successful!

On the other hand, Glinda is a bit crazy. She keeps moving and every noise is a distraction. I do have to give her credit for sitting on command. She is amazing at that... thank God!

As for today (aka day 9 of dog training) things went a lot better. Once again I asked Lady Gaga to "Sit, paparazzi, and lay down, " but this time I had her on a short leash. When she lied down, I got up and said "walk"...we walked two or three times in the hallway, then I asked her to "Sit, paparazzi, and lay down." This time however when she laid down I asked her to roll over...and she did!! A part of me wanted to cry and jump for joy out of pride, but I remained calm and continued on with her training. I asked her to roll over a second time... but she didn't. That's okay... perhaps tomorrow.

Glinda forgot how to sit. Feeling disappointed I really wanted to give up and say, "Dad here's Glinda's leash... train her she's your dog!" But then I remember all of my teachers from college and thought, "They never gave up on me... so why should I give up on Glinda?" Continuing the session, she finally sat and laid down! I thought training Glinda would be easier since she is a puppy, but its been quite the opposite. Anyway, I'm going to take the girls on a walk right now....

PS
I have a question: If it rains, then where or how to you walk your dog?
