Dog Training Day 3&4: On Hiatus

Yesterday we went to take Lady Gaga and Glinda for their yearly annual vaccinations which includes the famous Rabies shot. We met a beautiful Rottweiler named Annie who we fell in love with. Anyway, once they called Lady Gaga and Glinda, both were weighed in and extremely nervous. Once the shots were over, we went back home.

Several hours later I wanted to start our daily 30 minute training session. Well this was not a good idea. Lady Gaga just laid there on the floor and did nothing. I figured, okay, perhaps she feels under the weather due to her shots, so today we'll skip training.




Today, I was hoping Lady Gaga would be back to her normal sweet self, but once again, I was wrong. She did perform the trick paparazzi, but when I gave her a treat, she rejected it. I gave her a body rub which she usually loves. When I started rubbing my hand on her fur, she immediately bit my wrist. My dog never ever bites people, unless she is sick or in pain. I rubbed her fur once more and this time she jerked her head and started whimpering. I realized right away the place I was rubbing was where she was vaccinated.

I notice that whenever Lady Gaga gets her Rabies vaccination, she's aggressive for a couple of days. So I'm just going to leave her alone for today and hopefully by tomorrow she'll be able to start training again.
